Lionel Messi has once again delivered magic for Inter Miami, guiding the club to yet another historic milestone. The Argentine superstar has now taken the Herons to their third final since his arrival, as they prepare to face Seattle Sounders in the Leagues Cup Final 2025.

Messi’s connection with Seattle has a special history. Back in 2009, during a preseason friendly at the iconic Lumen Field, then with FC Barcelona, Messi scored twice in a 4-0 win over Seattle Sounders — a performance fondly remembered by fans in the city. Sixteen years later, he returns, this time wearing Inter Miami’s pink, with another final on the line.
When Messi joined Inter Miami in 2023, the team was struggling at the bottom of the MLS standings, ranked 27th and without any major trophies in their cabinet. Fast forward to today, under Messi’s leadership, Inter Miami has already secured two major titles, and now stand just one game away from lifting their third trophy in club history.
The stakes are high. A win against Seattle would further cement Messi’s legacy in MLS and continue Inter Miami’s remarkable transformation from league underdogs to title contenders.
As history comes full circle, fans are asking the question: Will Messi light up Seattle once again?
